Who Wants To Be A Millionaire

Well, on Friday, the Millionaire production team was in town to host auditions for “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.” They were auditioning for the regular show, their Netflix Movie week, College, and “Play To Pay For Your Wedding” week. Carmel and I went to audition for basically every option we could. They had two tests, one for movie week and one for the general show. We pretty much bombed the movie week test, I think, or the bar was set pretty high to qualify. But we really wanted to get onto the wedding edition of Millionaire; when they told us that each member of the engaged couple had to qualify individually, this made us nervous. However, we both managed to pass the test! I’m not sure if they lowered the bar for engaged couples, or if we really passed though; their wording would seem to indicate that everyone needed the same score, but we didn’t feel particularly confident on our score.

They brought everyone in in groups of about 140. We managed to get in with the third group. There were I think at least two other engaged couples in the group we were in, but we were the only ones that qualified. They are supposed to be sending a postcard in the next couple of weeks to tell us if our interview went okay and we are going to enter the contestant pool, but they also said we might get a phone call before that, depending on when the Wedding week shows are being taped. Hopefully, being in the smaller set of engaged couples will give us a much better chance of getting on the show, so we’re crossing our fingers that we will get picked.
